Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use kanjiya.com (“KanjiYa”) and when you place an order with us. KanjiYa is operated by Bazooka, Inc. (“we”, “us”). By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

What we offer

KanjiYa shows how a name can be written in Japanese — in Katakana, Hiragana, and Kanji chosen for their sound (a traditional technique called ateji) — and prints it on made-to-order T-shirts.

Kanji spellings are creative transliterations, not official Japanese names or translations, and the meanings we show are each character’s general meaning. Pronunciations for names that aren’t in our directory yet are generated automatically, including with AI, and may not match how you say your name. Please check your preview before you order.

Your content

You’re responsible for the names and text you enter. Don’t enter anything unlawful, hateful, or that infringes someone else’s rights. We may refuse or cancel an order that we reasonably believe breaks this rule, with a full refund.

Orders and prices

• Prices are in US dollars and include free shipping within the United States. The total shown at checkout is what you pay.
• We currently ship only to addresses in the United States.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card is charged when you place your order.
• We may cancel an order and refund it in full — for example, if an item becomes unavailable or a price was shown in error.

Production and delivery

Each item is printed after you order. We review your design and send it to production within 1–2 business days, production takes 2–5 business days, and shipping within the US usually takes 4–6 business days. These are estimates, not guarantees.

Previews and colors

Previews show your design as it will be printed. Actual colors may look slightly different because of screen settings and the printing process.

Our site

The site’s design, text and software belong to us or our licensors. Please don’t copy or scrape the site, or use it to build a competing service.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. This doesn’t take away the protection of mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version posted when you place an order applies to that order.
